After CAPS Post

I thought it was a good meeting, this was the first one I have
attended. The turnout seemed at least from my point of view pretty
good 54 was my head count I could be off by a few, this does not
include the 5 Police Officers in attendance.

If you have not been to one I highly recommend attending the next one
where they plan on having an expert on personal safety.

Plenty of concerns were addressed, and the forum was easy for people
to speak and bring up their particular areas of concern.

I did hear a few folks asking others about the author of this blog, at
this point I wish to remain anonymous at least until I get more
comfortable with what I am doing.

If you wish to contact me my email address is paulinstpaul@gmail.com

Thanks for reading

Hey, just found your blog today. I live in the neighborhood and it's great to know what's going on around here. Please keep it up!

Me too! Thanks for the work. I was there at the meeting this evening and felt that a couple of the cops could really care less about some of the issues at hand. One was even laughing at one of the questions. Oh well... Keep up the good work!

Glad you attended, and I think that if we continue to increase our numbers at the CAPS meetings then we can have a more effective partnership w/ the cops.

If someone wanted to get a scanner and help out, what model might you recommend to get started?

Keep up the good work.

I use a Radio shack pro-97 triple trucking scanner. I have not yet begun to use it to it's potential.

Thanks - this is a great blog and hope it encourages more people to come to CAPS meetings. After coming home, I saw some kids dealing to folks in cars - not even in the alley but out in the street. I have to say, it must be frustrating to be a cop in our neighborhood because whenever you'd go to check something out, the kids have already called on their cell phones to tell one another you're coming. So they just scatter and regroup, scatter and regroup...and swallow all their baggies so they don't get caught with merchandise.

Hey 10:27, not to be too presumptuous, but I think maybe that might have been me you're talking about. Perhaps I'll see you at the next CAPS meeting...

And yeah, this blog is great. I've half-thought about picking up a scanner myself - I could easily devote some evening hours during the week to listening in. It'd be great if we had a few people coordinating together so as to maximize coverage.
