Person Shot

4526 Sheridan man in the lobby of the building, with gunshot wound to the leg. Officer reports that he got hit pretty good and they need an ambulance. All the victim can tell the officers is that there were 5 black males shot him and ran. Police are looking through the yards right now to see if the gun got pitched. They also mention the possibility that the guy may have shot himself by accident.

Police are looking for 5 or 6 Black males one was short with braids with a red hoodie. The suspect walked up to the victim and asked him what he was about then shot him in the thigh. The victim is not being very cooperative with the Police. Area three detectives are responding to the victim at Masonic Hospital and the crime scene. The crime scene was described as starting at 1012 Sunnyside and heading north with a very pronounced blood trail.

this is cool. Do you have the scanner running at your house like elevator music?

Funny that I had just written the local department, the alderman, and the mayor's office yesterday explaining that teh lack of response I was getting from the city in 1) taking reports, 2) viewing my evidence of vandalism, etc, was soon going to end in at least one shooting. It looked like a more serious incident too b/c the yellow tape surrounded at least two buildings on Sheridan.

It seems the area around sheridan road is the most violent...is this the case?

Sheridan and Lawrence to Wilson is really something ...I'm always afraid to walk to and from JJ Peppers store...that place is teeming with stuff going on.

Yes, it's got problems. All the police camera at Sheridan and Wilson has done is force the trouble further north on Sheridan. But unless you are going to the JJ Peppers at night (and if you are, why?) I seriously don't think it is something to fear.

I live near the intersection of Lawrence and Sheridan and I have noticed that it has gotten worse since the camera went in. And decent people who live in a city should be able to run out to a store like JJ Peppers in the evening to get a gallon of milk or some ice cream or a roll of paper towels or something.

I am sick of not being able to do things like that or having to get in my car and go farther because that is how I can feel safe.

Another thing that would help is if JJ Peppers stopped selling the small alcohol bottles that it sells. But sometimes business trumps safety.
