Town Hall: Town Hall refers to the 23rd Police District.
Public Violence Mission: From what I gather, it sounds like the officers assigned to this mission look for gang bangers and stop them question them to find out who they are. They then turn in the info at the conclusion of the mission to their supervisor.
Top Ten Target Mission: Units assigned to this mission usually concentrate on the Sunnyside Mall and the Broncho Billy Playlot looking for known troublemakers and see what they are up to, looking for reasons to make arrests.

These gangbangers are so stupid. This is why I'm so glad you're back w/ the updates!
I had to walk through the hospital parking lot to get home, and I was wondering what was going on... it was packed with tons of police cars and ambulances. Definitely knew something was up...
anybody else with small kids read this blog? how are you coping with all this violence?
We stay inside. We are only out with the little ones before 5 p.m. We drive our car to get necessities rather than walk. We shop in other neighborhoods. Sad. Wrong. True.
Why would white people with young kids live in Uptown? You must not care much about them.
I never would have known, I was watching the Cubs game and the sound of the crowd might have masked the pops of the gunfire. Thank you Crime blotter for letting me know what happened just a few blocks away.

to the anonymous who answered my question about the kids - that's exactly what i feel like i should be doing, too. but i don't want my daughter to pick up on my fear and live her life that way...so i called my management company today to inform them that i won't be renewing our lease. it's gotten too bad out there!
